This gallery contains 30 photographs taken with either my Canon G12 or Canon Rebel T1i and distilled from almost 1800 taken during my travels in December, 2011 through 5 Central American countries: Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua.

My working situation was not always ideal. I was often photographing from a moving bus, boat, ship or kayak, on a trail while walking without the ability to stop for long, in low light or without a tripod. These less than ideal conditions are evident in some of the photographs.

This work was the content of “First Impressions-Central American Light”, my first solo exhibition in April of 2013 at ViewPoint Gallery, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
