About The Artist:
Anne has always loved taking photographs, starting with her Brownie box camera in the 1960’s. While she earned her living as a lawyer for many years, she pursued her love of photography, focusing particularly on elements in nature.
Six years ago, Anne committed herself more seriously to photography and launched her business, Serenity Images. The works shown illustrate the diverse range of Anne’s photographic subjects.
Anne’s work is also exhibited for sale in Halifax at ViewPoint Gallery, The Summit Spa (Halifax and Bedford locations), Fred’s Gallery during the May-June Halifax ARTMAP show, Ciao Bella Esthetics and at her home studio. Her original photographic cards are available in the city at Duly Noted Stationery, Home Grown Organic Foods, jane’s next door and both Summit Spas.
Anne’s photographs live in collections in the United Kingdom, Florida and Maryland, throughout Nova Scotia and across Canada.
Artist Statement
“In whatever one does, there must be a relationship between the eye and the heart. With the one eye that is closed, one looks within, with the other eye that is open, one looks without.” - Henri Cartiér-Bresson
When I see beauty in something that my heart responds to, I take a photograph. When a photograph ‘works’, I see that beauty all over again and my life is enriched.
I get great pleasure from sharing these ‘beauties’ with others.
In your daily life, I encourage you to pay attention to what opens this relationship between the eye and the heart for you.
